Recovery Spotlight – January 2018

From Jaime Dyke, Director of Addiction Awareness of Steuben County:  We are excited to announce our Recovery Spotlight! Each month we will be recognizing a person in recovery for their achievements and dedication in their recovery. This month we recognize Sarah Mullaney.

What Recovery means to Sarah:  “Recovery to me can be along the lines of continuing, a second chance, time to do things right. From being at the point of potentially losing everything, to the step in life I’m at one where I wouldn’t want to turn back. By me ring in recovery I’ve been able to maintain a fulltime job, be a fulltime college student, among the time of also being a volunteer firefighter and EMT. Without having to gone through my addiction, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Recovery isn’t a walk in the park, it takes a lot of time and effort that you have to be accounted for, and be able to hold yourself responsible. In my recovery I’ve learned that you have to hold yourself accountable.”
